WKU CBPM Building Operational Improvement

CBPM has a nice building to provide world-class education. But it needs to get improved continually in operation. Social Media Lab, 2nd Floor Outdoor space, and the North side of the building can provide operational excellency if we can improve it slightly. 

 

Social Media Lab is to create world-class business educational contents. But it has risks of fire and health for poor indoor materials.

 

2nd-floor outdoor space can be extended as a part of “Business Research and Innovation Center (BRIC)” where it can provide “Business events such as Business speech; business gatherings, invite talks; Quartet, and small performance. This space can provide the chance to build a business network with the Wenzhou business community (This space can host 500 persons).

 

North side of the building (adjacent to the large indoor Auditorium) can be used as the “Outdoor Theater” as it was designed for if we can add solar panel and stage. This space can host a medium-size school event such as freshman welcoming or graduation ceremony (This space can host 1,000 persons). 

 

Suspended the Social Media Lab improvement for a while (Jan. 2021) for Budget problem. 

 

Dec. 08, 2020:

The Social Media Lab Improvement plan is suspended because a resolution was not achieved between Social Media Director and Logistics Department. The space will remain the same as it is.  But "Risk of Fire" will be continually addressed. 

 

 

Adding to the improvement, a Cafe facility can be installed in the 2nd floor. (2020. Jan. 14)

 

 

 

 

 

5. College of Business - Management, Global Business, and Marketing Banner Installed on the 2nd Floor spaces (Oct. 24, 2020)

 

6. Jan. 2021: Equipped "First Aids Package" and "WheelChair" for Medical Emergency Situation at the 2nd floor of CBPM building.

Dr. Jerry Choi coined the idea and donated the Medical Aid box and wheelchair. 

Dr. Margaret Chen suggested first aid medicines and materials. 

Dr. Candy Chiu suggested Wheelchair.

Feb. 23, 2021: Suggestion of CBPM Building's Operational Adjustment with the New Campus Buildings.

 

New Campus Building: Architect (started operation in Feb. 2021). 

You may know that WKU CBPM has around 60% student body size, and we have served many external operations in cooperating with the school's demand. 

And it's time to adjust the school space operational adjustment with the new campus building. 

 

Originally, CBPM had "Library" space and "Project Rooms" space on the first floor of our building. 

 

But those spaces are used for 'Exhibition Room' and some strange outside activities, not for CBPM purposes as below. 

 

 

"Could we talk and negotiate to make operational adjustments of CBPM building with new campus buildings?". 

 

One thing is clear for us, CBPM needs more space to manage 'larger numbers of CBPM students' day by day. 

 

And we wish we can make excellent 'operations' of each campus building continually. 

Please kindly consider this suggestion, and please feel free to contact us to talk about 'Operational Adjustment'.

At the outdoor space of CBPM 2nd floor, we will have...

 

1. Makerspace activities,

2. Hackathon (by IAIC), 

3. MGM Day event, 

4. Social Entrepreneurship activities

5. Wenzhou Business Community Engagement events (keynote speakers), 

6. Classic Concert and/or Students talent shows (e.g. Wednesday Classics, Quartet concert)

(2nd floor: A-201, C-225, C-226, A-201, C-227 (Bloomberg), A301, C-322, C-422: Total 8 classroom – Possibility 7 classroom)

 

REQUEST: Relocation Taching Facilties (Podium + Screen) and Add Desks/Chairs

May 19, 2022: Installed "Security Screens" on Windows at WKU CBPM B-216, B-218, B212, B220, B222 Classrooms

 

 

Inside and outside, Secruity screen guarantee the confidentiality and openess at the same time. 

 

April 10, 2023: Donated the Anti-Mosquito Devices (10 pcs) to the 2nd floor of Kean University (CBPM Building).

 

 

 

 

 

Sept. 14, 2023: A Thank you Letter from the Wheel-Chair User (at the CBPM Buidlng 2nd floor First Aid Section). The student use the emergency device to addres his urgent medical situation.
