[SUGGESTION] Strategy for Development of the Industrial Economy (Wenzhou) by Dr. Jerry Choi

Sept. 27, 2022: An office request for collecting ideas and strategies for "The Development of Industrial Economy (Wenzhou)" came from the Office of Research and Sponsored Program (Office of Government and Community Relations; Person in Charge: Ms. Zhang Yi (Zennie): zhangyi@wku.edu.cn ). 

Responding to the call, Dr. Jeonghwan (Jerry) Choi suggested "Explore, Develop, and Uncover more collaborative success stories of Wenzhou Business Transformation, and disseminate them to show best "Examples" by using social media" to drive Wenzhou business people's 'Mental Schema'. " 

He suggested the idea in the formal form, Email, and video interview.

	简要描述Brief Description：Wenzhou traditional industry needs to change its business model by using advanced technologies. Made in China 2025 initiative supports the change. However, the speed of industrial reform is not satisfactory. The problem stems from the relatively low “Awareness” of the urgent situation and “Acceptability”of change of Wenzhou businesses comparing with Tier 1 cities. In short, it could be summarized as “Learning” problem.
原因分析 Reason Analysis	A student who worked at JD.com in Beijing shared her story: She worked for many small “Convenience stores” to transform their supply chain management by using advanced MIS system that came from Mobile based technology. However, many convenient stores owners did not accept it because they ‘did not understand’, ‘no time’, ‘busy’, ‘not necessary’. She reported that the “Awareness and Acceptability” of new technology was a root cause of the problem.
对策建议Counter-measures	People learn from examples rather than any other ‘propaganda’ or‘words’. Showing them the best examples is the best practice to ‘Transform’ and ‘Change’ their business models. In that respect, OneHRT and Wenzhou TV recently publicizing the “Wenzhou Business People Series”. And, that show examples of best Wenzhou business success stories. We may give them a more “Digital Transformation Examples”. For example, WKU CBPM students and faculty introduce an “Innovation” at Wenzhou TV (Oct. 08, 2021). https://youtu.be/2Ouf55nQT-k We can explore, develop, and uncover more collaborative success stories and publicize it to show “Example”by using social media.
